Maven: A Personal Mobility Solution
Maven, a car sharing startup within General Motors, addresses the need for mobility without the restraints of car ownership. In this session, Akshay Jaising, Maven Regional Manager (West), will provide insights on how Maven is helping GM make important strides toward the future of transportation. Akshay will discuss how there is no substitute for scaled experience and iterative learning, and also how the public/private partnership model is enabling the future of mobility. A special concentration will also focus on data and insights from the Chevrolet Bolt EV deployment in Maven Gig fleets
About Akshay Jaising
Akshay Jaising learned to drive in Mumbai, a city with more than 18 million people and some of the worst traffic congestion in the world. Living in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Bangkok provided very little relief when it came to transportation. These experiences are part of what drives Akshay to strive to find a better way for people to get around, especially in big cities.
Today, he is leading General Motors’ Maven operations on the U.S. West Coast as the company ramps up three unique services – Maven City, Maven Home and Maven Gig – in distinct markets.
Akshay received his Engineering degree from Mumbai University and his MBA from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is married with two children. He loves photography and cycling, and plans to expand his cycling prowess in the Bay Area.
