About John Patterson
John Patterson is Director, Social Media & Reputation Management at FordDirect, a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and its franchised dealers to create a comprehensive Web presence for dealers and provide digital marketing and advertising services that help dealers sell more cars and trucks. In this role, he is responsible for leading the social media and reputation management strategy and execution for the company’s Ford and Lincoln dealer customers.
He has almost a decade of social media marketing experience working for Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies in the automotive and consumer goods industries. John specializes in social media marketing, community management, social media strategy, content strategy, SEO, social search and more.
Prior to joining FordDirect in 2018, John served as vice president of planning at Weber Shandwick in Detroit, where he was a lead social media strategist for Chevrolet. He was an associate director, social media strategy at Search Optics in Ferndale, where he lead a team of highly talented social media marketing professionals to create a variety of solutions for multiple clients. Additionally, he has held social media management roles at Kelly Services, Ignite Social Media, Big Fuel Communications and others.
John received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and sales from the University of Toldeo in Toledo, Ohio.
