In 1991, Fletcher Jones Jr. purchased a Newport Beach Mercedes-Benz dealership…out of bankruptcy…and asked Garth Blumenthal, an experienced auto executive from South Africa, to manage it.

Based on a maniacal focus, that dealership became #1 in sales in the U.S., for the past 19 years, by delivering the highest luxury customer experience possible.   Later in 2014, Fletcher Jones Jr. partnered with Garth on a new Mercedes-Benz dealership in Temecula, California. They constructed a ground-up facility that looks more like an art museum than an automotive dealership.

In Garth’s presentation he will outline how Mercedes-Benz of Temecula has brought the same 5 Star luxury experience to the Inland Empire that they originally created over a quarter of a century ago in Newport Beach.  He will outline their core philosophy to take great care of our team members so they are happy and motivated. This, in turn, allows them to provide a world-class guest experience, which builds long term relationships with our clients.

Garth is an experienced Dealer Principal and General Manager with a demonstrated history of excelling in the Automotive industry for 38 years. During his 25-year career with Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach he led an all-star team to be the Number 1 Dealer in the U.S. for 19 consecutive years (1999-2017).  Garth is a strong sales professional skilled in people development, process improvement and maniacal focus on the guest experience. 

Garth is an International Automotive Consultant to Dealer Groups and Manufacturers hosting dealer seminars in Asia, Europe and South America. He has been invited many times as a guest Automotive Speaker including 1999 when he addressed the Heads of Mercedes-Benz global Markets in Stuttgart about the concept of setting up a Business Development Center to promote customer loyalty and retention.
